PixelPrivacy policy
PixelPOS is a point of sale for shops. A shop owner opens a shop on pixelpos.co.tz, and the owner and their staff use the web app or the PixelPOS mobile app to record sales, stock, customers, debts (madeni) and expenses. This page explains what we store, why, and how to have it removed.
What we store
- Account details: the name, email address and phone number of the shop owner and of each staff account the owner creates, plus a hashed password.
- Shop records the shop enters: products, prices, stock, sales and receipts, purchases, expenses, debts, and the names and phone numbers of the shop's customers and suppliers.
- A notification address for each phone that allows notifications: a token from Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, used only to send that phone the shop's notifications (for example the morning summary). It is deleted when you sign out of the app.
- Sign-in records: the time, device type and IP address of each sign-in, so the owner can see where the shop is signed in and sign a device out.
- Subscription and payment records for the shop's PixelPOS plan. Card or mobile money details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by us.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share shop data with advertisers. The app shows no adverts.
- We do not read your contacts, messages, photos or location. The camera is used only when you choose to scan a barcode or attach a product photo.
- SMS or WhatsApp reminders to a customer are sent only when a member of the shop chooses to send one.
Who can see it
Each shop has its own separate database. Only the accounts the shop owner creates can sign in to that shop, and the owner decides what each account may see. PixelLinx staff access a shop's data only to support the shop at its request or to keep the service running. Data is stored on servers we operate and is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
How long we keep it
For as long as the shop is active. When a shop closes its account, its database is deleted within 30 days. Billing records are kept as long as the law requires.
Deleting your account or data
A staff account is removed by the shop owner under User Management. A shop owner who wants the whole shop and its data deleted, or a customer of a shop who wants their details removed, can write to us from the email address on the account:

Tell us the shop address (for example myshop.pixelpos.co.tz). We confirm the request with the owner, delete the data within 30 days, and reply when it is done.
